With school excursions cancelled and interstate travel restrictions in place, students in Miss Fogarty’s and Mrs Miller’s classes performed an assembly item last Friday based on a trip around Australia.
Imagination was essential as the audience were informed that the classes had received from Mr Jackson an exemption pass to travel by bus to the Daintree Rainforest and Uluru. Along the journey there was lots of sightseeing, a sick student, rides on flying foxes, a student rescue and even a perentie attack.
The item showcased students' work in class learning about Australian landmarks and imaginative writing, with examples of their writing filmed using iMovie.
The adventure ended with students reflecting on the wonderful time they'd had on their excursion and performing a dance to the song 'The Best Day of their Life'. We know that, likewise, students will appreciate and enjoy their next real excursion more than ever.
