Last Friday we held our Annual Nemingha School presentation ceremony with our entire school and Year 6 parents gathered in the hall.
It was truly wonderful to be able to invite some parents, with the recent lifting of restrictions that have affected many of our school events throughout the year.
Our special guest, Mr Jarad Moss, spoke to the audience about his schooling here at Nemingha and his subsequent life journey to the position he now holds as the Senior Maintenance Manager for B.A.E Systems Australia. Jarad is responsible to maintain the Hawk 127 Lead-in Fighter aircraft at RAAF Base Williamtown near Newcastle.
As BB King once said “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world”, so it was gratifying to listen to what Jarad had to say and for our students to realise that he was once just like them, a student of Nemingha. It proves that they too can aim high.
During the presentation of awards, the audience was entertained by the school choir with two songs dedicated to our Year 6 students. “Memories” by Maroon 5 and “Clouds” by Zav Sobiech.
Mrs Amanda Perkins, current P&C President, was presented with a life membership for her commitment, dedication and leadership supporting the school to provide our students with quality resources and programs.
Congratulations to 2021 School Captains Summar Barnett and Cooper Godden and Vice Captains Josie Murdoch and Alex Mackenzie, who were presented with their badges by the outgoing captains of 2020.
