Harmony Week’s key messages are about respect, inclusiveness and a sense of belonging for everyone.
Unfortunately, during these unusual times, these values have been misplaced by some Australians and a reminder of them was pivotal throughout our school’s celebrations this week.
Students discussed in class what harmony means and how they can be more harmonious with one another. They also learnt through stories and song about French, Maori, Japanese and Argentinian culture through Mr Jackson, Mrs McDonald, Mrs Sharkey and Mrs Andrea Bruno from Tamworth Regional Council.
A special thank you to Mrs Bruno for visiting our school, teaching the Stage 3 students some Spanish and arranging for books in other languages from the NSW State Library to be viewed by our students. Hopefully, the key Harmony Week messages go beyond the week-long celebration and can be lived by us, every day.
