Canteen and clothing pool

Each school in NSW offers something slightly different depending on the community. Here's what we offer for you.

Canteen

All canteens in NSW public schools must meet certain requirements. These include providing more healthy food and drink options – to make the healthy choice an easy choice for students. Visit Healthy school canteens to learn more.

Our canteen is a healthy choice

The Nemingha Public School Canteen is operated by the Nemingha parents and citizens' association (P&C). A variety of hot and cold lunch and snack items, both packaged and freshly baked, are provided. All profits made by the canteen are used to purchase resources for our children.

Opening Times

Opening times are Monday and Friday, from 9am-2pm. We serve lunch from 11:20-12:00pm and recess 1:30pm-2:00pm.

How to order lunches

Canteen orders may be placed using the online platform QuickCliq.  You will need to register your child if you would like to use this service. Check out the Frequently Asked Questions section on the QuickCliq website (quickcliq.com.au) for instructions on how to register, set up each child, add credit and place an order.

Please note that it may take two days for credit to be loaded onto your account if you are paying via bank transfer - this is the FREE option. You can also use Paypal and Credit card but these options will incur a fee.

Orders close at 9am the day of the order.

We have tried to keep costs associated with the service to a minimum - Quickcliq charge a direct service fee of $0.21 per order per child (recess and lunch is one order) and all other charges will be absorbed by the P&C.

If you require support to register you can contact Quickcliq direct by email to info@quickcliq.com.au or phone 1300 11 66 37.

You can still send orders written on bags to school with your child.  Please make sure you include your child’s name, class and menu items.  You may also send extra money for purchases at recess and lunch.

To order lunches using bags:

  • Recess and lunch orders need separate bags with RECESS and/or LUNCH clearly marked.
  • Please write orders on brown paper bag with your child's name, class and teacher clearly marked.
  • Enclose the correct money where possible, any change will be handed to your child when they hand in their order.
  • If a paper bag is not supplied, an additional charge of 25c will be incurred.

Orders are to be given to the canteen operators before the 9:20 am bell where possible.

  • Both recess and lunch orders will be delivered to your child's class. However, noodle cups, hot drinks and frozen items need to be collected from the canteen. Your child's paper bag is to be taken to the canteen as proof of purchase.

As an increasing number of our children have allergies or intolerances, we will try to accommodate dietary requirements. Please come in and see our canteen manager if you have any concerns or questions.

Volunteering

A manager is employed by the P&C and is assisted by the canteen co-ordinator and parent volunteers.

The canteen is always looking for volunteers to help with the daily preparation of food in the canteen. Mums, dads, grandparents and other carers are all welcome. No previous experience required!

To volunteer, drop in to the canteen or call the canteen co-ordinator.

If you have any queries, please don't hesitate to contact the canteen or leave a message at the school office.

Canteen sub-committee rules

Attached are the rules for the P&C's Canteen sub-committee, ratified on 8 May 2019.

Uniforms

When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community.

Students, teachers, parents and carers, as well as members of our local community helped develop our school uniform to make sure it:

  • meets the requirements of occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity legislation

  • includes items that are affordable, comfortable and made from easy-care and easy-wear fabrics

  • is appropriate for the full range of school activities

  • is suitable for all body shapes.
